The 31st annual Aldrich C. Bloomquist Lecture will feature David Kragnes, former director of CoBank and Golden Growers Cooperative, on April 2.
The event, hosted by the Quentin Burdick Center for Cooperatives at North Dakota State University, begins at 11:30 a.m. with a lunch and will be hosted at the Louise S. Barry Auditorium in NDSU’s Barry Hall.
The lectureship provides students the opportunity to hear firsthand from distinguished people involved in cooperatives. The lecture also allows cooperative employees, directors and members to network with students who will soon begin their careers.
“This is a great opportunity for students and those engaged in cooperative businesses,” says Frayne Olson, QBCC director. “Participants get to meet new people and learn from each other.”
Kragnes was selected to present for this year’s lectureship after retiring from the CoBank board, where he was chair of the Governance Committee. Kragnes is the former owner and operator of David Kragnes Farm, a corn and bean row crop farming operation in Felton, Minnesota.
Kragnes served as director of the Farm Credit Council and of Golden Growers Cooperative. He also served as an advisory board member for the QBCC and served on the American Crystal Sugar Co. board.
The lecture series was established in recognition of Al Bloomquist, a longtime executive and president of American Crystal Sugar Co.
To attend the lecture, register by March 18 at ndsu.ag/alcblecture25. The lecture is free and lunch will be provided.
Barry Hall is located at 811 2nd Ave N in Fargo, North Dakota.
This event is sponsored by American Crystal Sugar Co.
