The NDSU Leadership Development Program is scheduled to begin Feb. 6 and continue through the end of spring semester. The program will consist of six-to-seven three-hour sessions.
More than 50 NDSU personnel are expected to take part.
“NDSU employees are our greatest asset, and we believe in developing leaders across our university at every level,” said John Woolsey, director of human resources. “Participants will gain stronger connections with fellow participants and the university community. We look forward to growing and learning throughout this program.”
Woolsey and Kristina Astrup, new associate director of organizational development, will facilitate the program.
Anticipated outcomes for the program include:
- Better understanding of the operations of the university
- Enhance ability to manage change, collaborate and build partnerships and teams
- Encourage the pursuit of self-development as a tool for goal achievement
- Develop leaders at all levels
The program will focus on these leadership topics:
- Trust/morale
- Effective communication
- Crucial conversations
- Emotional intelligence
- Business acumen
During the program, participants also will conduct a book review of “The Trust Edge” by David Horsager.
