NDSU and the Red River Valley Writing project are set to host the second annual Teen Creative Writing Camp July 20-24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Due to Covid-19 concerns, we are moving our 2020 camp online,” said Kelly Sassi, associate professor of English and director of the Red River Valley Writing Project. “Students in grades 7-12 will still be able to study with professional writers and educators. The environment may be changing, but the quality of instruction is not.”
Daily sessions are scheduled to include fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, screenwriting and cartooning. All students can participate, regardless of skill level.
Instructors will include educators from NDSU, Valley City State University and the North Dakota College of Science, and professional writers from the community. The camp will culminate in a public reading.
The $140 fee includes all materials and a camp T-shirt. Register. Visit the camp website to register. A limited number of scholarships are available. Registrants are encouraged to ask about returning camper and sibling discounts.
