NDSU’s Department of Public Health is set to present the Mary J. Berg Lecture in Women’s Health to be held as part of National Public Health Week activities.
The event, “Ignoring the Cost of Color in the Fight Against Racial Health Inequalities: Implications for Women’s Health,” will feature a presentation by Jaime Slaughter-Acey, assistant professor of epidemiology and community health at the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health. It is scheduled for Tuesday, April 6, at 1 p.m. via Zoom.
Slaughter-Acey will look at research that highlights racial health disparities among women in the U.S. and discuss how skin tone moderates the relationship between racial classification and women's health outcomes.
Her presentation will be followed by a panel discussion on maternal and child health disparities. Panelists are scheduled to include:
