Alumnus to give Dakota Digital Discussions presentation

NDSU’s Challey Institute and Dakota Digital Discussions are scheduled to sponsor a virtual talk by technologist, business leader and NDSU alumnus Steve Malme on Tuesday, March 8, at 3 p.m. All are invited to this free event.

During his talk, “Digital Transformation: Technologies, Business and Career," Malme will discuss how a lifelong learning mindset leads to professional opportunities, positive experiences and career success. There will be time for audience questions, and the discussion will be moderated by John Bitzan, Menard Family Director of the Challey Institute, and Kendall Nygard, director of Dakota Digital Academy and NDSU professor emeritus of computer science

The virtual presentation will be broadcast live from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Louise S. Barry Auditorium, located at NDSU's Barry Hall. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served. You also can register to watch the presentation via Zoom. 

Malme is a 1986 NDSU graduate, majoring in computer science. He has held many positions in software, engineering, business development and executive leadership with such major companies as IBM, Microsoft and Amazon in the United States, Europe and Asia. He has worked in developing strategic partnerships, business management, health and wellness systems, cloud computing, immersive technologies, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, data analytics, enterprise software and electronic health records.

Dakota Digital Discussions is an offshoot of Dakota Digital Academy, which was formed to help students and professionals develop and upskill cyber knowledge and skills. It delivers programs, courses and certificate programs through the 11 institutions of the North Dakota University System and five Tribal Colleges.
