NDSU student Brendan Anderson and his wife, Brittany, welcomed twin girls, Wren and Ari, on Jan. 6. Born six weeks premature, the girls were immediately admitted into the NICU, Wren was diagnosed with TAPVR, a rare but serious heart condition. She was transferred to Minneapolis Children’s Hospital. On Jan. 14, she developed metabolic acidosis, which led to multiple organ failure. Despite the best efforts of her medical team, Wren died the following night.
Ari has since been able to leave the NICU and is home with her parents.
As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
