The NDSU Challey School of Music is set to host its 40th NDSU Jazz Festival Feb. 2-3 in Festival Concert Hall at the Reineke Fine Arts building. NDSU will welcome 20 middle school and high school groups from around North Dakota, Minnesota and the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Tickets for each day are $5 for adults and $2 for seniors and non-NDSU students. NDSU student tickets are free with a valid student ID card. All performances also will be streamed online.
Guest artists will adjudicate for the school bands and also perform alongside the NDSU Jazz Ensemble as featured soloists. Guests include trumpeter Scott Belck, baritone saxophonist Ted Hogarth and bass player Devon Gillingham.
The NDSU Jazz program is led by Matthew Patnode, professor of saxophone, and Jeremy Brekke, associate professor of trumpet.
