The NDSU Concert Choir and Madrigal Singers are scheduled to begin their regrional spring tour.
The NDSU Concert Choir and Madrigal Singers, under the direction of Jo Ann Miller and Michael Weber, respectively, is set to embark on a regional tour beginning Wednesday, March 15.
The NDSU Concert Choir has performed at state, regional and national music conferences; collaborated with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra; and presented Handel’s “Messiah” annually for 22 years. In addition to their regional spring tours, they tour abroad every three years, most recently to England and Wales in May 2022. Choir members are from many majors at NDSU and more than two-thirds are music majors. The Madrigal Singers, all members of the NDSU Concert Choir perform vocal chamber music from the Renaissance through the 21st century and present the annual Madrigal Dinners in full costume.
All tour concerts are free to the public.
The repertoire of this year’s tour includes music of Palestrina, Monteverdi, Schütz, Brahms, Holst, Dinerstein, Britten, Delius, Tormis and Fissinger, as well as four premieres.
