Incoming Students Spring 2026

First-Year, Transfer, and Graduate Students

Welcome home to Residence Life! After you have been formally accepted to NDSU, your next step is to apply for on-campus housing. Apps open October 1, 2025.

First-Year Students

If you're a first-year student, you'll kick off your college experience living in a residence hall, right in the heart of campus, and choose from two unlimited meal plan options that keep you fueled day and night. At NDSU, you're considered a first-year student if you graduated from high school in January 2025 or later.

Transfer and Graduate Students

Residence Life Tip - Apply for Both!

Because NDSU Apartments often have long waitlists, many students also apply for a residence hall to ensure they have a place to live on campus while waiting for an apartment to become available. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Apply for an NDSU Apartment
    • Be sure to check the box indicating you’d also like to apply for a residence hall.
  2. Watch Your Email
    • Within 1–2 business days, you’ll receive a link to complete the residence hall application—no application fee required!
