FAQs

Check out the Dining website for the most up-to-date hours.

If you are required to move on campus early as a member of a campus group (Band, Athletics, International Students, Employees in Memorial Union/Wallman Wellness Center/ITS/Dining, etc.), please connect with your sponsor/coach/supervisor and come on the designated date and time for your specific group.

View a complete list of what you should bring, what you can bring, and what is not allowed in the halls.

If you will be parking on campus during the school year, a valid parking permit is required. The cost for the academic year is $185 and is charged to your student account in the fall. Parking permit sales begin mid-July. Permits are available ONLY at the Parking and Transportation Services website. You will get your parking pass during check-in on move-in day.

If you purchase your permit by August 19, your permit will be given to you when you check in to your room.

Note: You must be registered for classes at least 24 hours before accessing the system.

You can view and manage your meal plan by logging into GET(also available on your phone - search GET Mobile).

If you wish to make a room change prior to moving in, contact the Residence Life Office at (701) 231-7557 or ndsu.residence.life@ndsu.edu. If you wish to make a change after the academic year has begun, please contact your hall director.

We strongly suggest the purchase of renters' insurance to ensure a student's belongings are covered in case of loss or damage. Please check with your family's insurance company for information.

If your assignment is in a triple/quad room, you will see it listed in your Housing Portal. A triple/quad room is much larger than double room, and easily accommodates three or four people. Generally, there are only three people placed in one of these spaces. If we are in an overflow situation (not enough regular rooms for all students needing housing) then an additional student will be added temporarily, until a permanent room is available for that student.

Each residence hall has a specific bed type and lofting options. You can view the specific type of bed in your room on our Beds, Lofts, and Linens page.

Check out your halls webpage and find the mailing and package information.

A yearly charge, maximum $100, for your hall dues is placed on your NDSU account on or before the first day of classes. The hall dues pay for activities and events planned by the Hall Government and the Residence Hall Association (RHA). Residence Life Hall Government can also use them to purchase items for the hall, such as sports equipment, cooking utensils, games, etc. Activities and equipment are available to all residents of the hall, and all students are encouraged to participate in our Hall Government. Lastly, your hall dues pay for the coinless laundry service in your building, as well as the RHA Cinema.
