Libby Sternhagen Schwenk
Research Specialist

My scientific background ranges from community ecology of tropical microbes to environmental DNA surveys of endangered animals. In my position at NDSU, I study the role of microbes in bioremediation of contaminated soil and water. I ensure safe, efficient and high-quality work is done in our lab by maintaining equipment and supplies, updating protocols, training lab workers and managing databases. When I’m not in the lab, you can most often find me outside hiking, walking the dog, and cross-country skiing.
