NDSU Little Free Pantry
Take what you need ~ Give what you can
NDSU has two Little Free Pantries on campus.
- Memorial Union located across from the Herd Shop
- Barry Hall Suite 104 - available during regular business hours
What is a Little Free Pantry?
The mini pantry movement is a grassroots, crowdsourced solution to immediate and local need. Whether a need for food or a need to give, mini pantries help feed neighbors, nourishing neighborhoods. Click for more information about the national organization.
How does NDSU's Little Free Pantry differ from the Goods for the Herd Food Pantry?
The Little Free Pantry is a mini pantry available while items last to anyone in need. It acts as an emergency assistance gap-filler. There is no application process.
The Goods for the Herd Food Pantry is a fully stocked pantry available through an intake form and by appointment only for those with an active NDSU ID in need.
How to support the Little Free Pantry in the Memorial Union:
- Adopting the LFP means you will stock the shelves at least once a week with non-expired, shelf stable items in good condition.
- New items should be placed behind existing items and expiration dates should be checked.
- If possible, try to stop by later in week to tidy up and reorganize.
- There will be a sign to the right of the LFP noting which organization has adopted it for that week.
- Individual donations are also welcome and encouraged.
*** Support the LFP by adopting and stocking it for a week HERE. If the sign up is full, watch for future dates.
