Reporting Hazing
Have you observed hazing? Do you suspect hazing but are not sure? REPORT IT! Hazing is illegal under North Dakota Century Code, Federal Law (Stop Campus Hazing Act), and prohibited by NDSU Student Code Policy 601 Section 3.46. NDSU does not condone hazing in any form, and will take all appropriate actions upon receipt of information of hazing.
Students, family members, faculty, staff, and community members can report hazing by completing the Hazing Report Form . While NDSU will accept and attempt to act on any information provided, NDSU is best able to respond to hazing concerns when we receive information that:
- Is accurate
- Is timely to the incident
- Is factually based
- Has contact information for the reporter
While anonymous reports are accepted, the ability for NDSU to fully act on and hold responsible alleged hazing can be impacted by lack of reporter or affected party information.
Please do not assume that others have reported a concern—duplicate reports are happily accepted as opposed to no information.
How To Report a Hazing Concern:
- If there is an immediate safety concern, please call 911 or NDSU Campus Police (701-231-8998) before taking any other step.
- Submit a report through NDSU’s Hazing Report Form. You do not have to log in or authenticate to do so—ANYONE CAN REPORT!
- Consider reaching out to one of the many resources listed in the report form for support, including the NDSU Counseling Center, Student Health Service, and more.
